Global variable for each client

Recommended Posts

Hello forum,

I need to install a cisco umbrella client. In the command line installation, I need to specify the company ID. I wonder if can I set some global variable for each company? If this is possible, where can I set this variable?

Thanks in advance.

I was just recently looking at this. OpenDNS has provided a deployment script that includes client EDFs to set the fields needed for silent deployment, and an EDF to indicate the client should not be deployed on a specific computer.  All that needs to be done is to create a monitor or search to trigger the script and deployment can be automated.

I always had trouble with the script and edfs that umbrella provided i found it easier and more reliable to just edit the msi and add the 3 needed fields to properties

https://support.umbrella.com/hc/en-us/articles/230905308-Umbrella-Roaming-Client-GPO-and-SCCM-Deployment-in-Windows-Server-2003-2008-2012

and once I have the modified msi i just give it a unique name like client.msi and use a edf to specify the name of the file to download set at client level
