EXE Monitor == “Monitor the results of an executable”

Just run thtough that wizard and fill in the values. I suggest configuring it for “Data Collection Only”, so that you can adjust the search limiter, test the result from a group member, etc. before arming it to create tickets/alerts.

How am I able to stop it?

I have setup this simple Remote Monitor to check the Activation State for Windows.

The monitor configuration is:

Monitor Name : EXE - Windows Activation Status

Monitor Action : EXE

Monitor Executable/Arguments : "%windir%\system32\slmgr.vbs" /dli

Interval: 14400 (4 hours)

Monitor Condition: State Based

Normal State: Contains - Status: Licensed

Warning State: Does Not Regex Match - Status: (Licensed|Notification)

Error State: Contains - Status: Notification

I have it limited to agents using a custom search, for Windows Vista,2008 or higher.

You can get that search and ones for other Windows versions here: http://www.labtechgeek.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=3849

Hi Darren,

I received the error message once I try to change the alert template and I receive following error.

any guidance appreciated.

I've added Dutch and French to the Normal State. So that CWA can recognise that too.
And the dutch to the error state.

Still need to find a better way to do this..

There is a "Language Override" button on the Group Monitor edit window. If you select that, you can specify alternate conditions based on the OS language.

That's a good idea!

Tried that, but it seems the pipe sign is the field separator.
I can't use it there.

That doesn't sound right. Inner pipes should be encoded to %7C, plus IIRC the internationalization options are base64 encoded segments, so.. yeah... It SHOULD work. (Maybe put %7C in yourself instead of the pipe where you need it?)

I have found an issue that evaluation installs of Windows show as "Licensed" but obviously they are not.I have found an issue that evaluation installs of Windows show as "Licensed" but obviously they are not.

The monitor is looking for a specific word for success, and a specific one for failure, and everything else is a warning.

Post the output from this command:

"%windir%\system32\slmgr.vbs" /dli

The message exactly explains it. Select the Status Tab. Check the Override box. Then alter the monitor for that agent.

@DarrenWhite99

Hi Darren,

It seems that the monitor can not be located in All monitors.

How is that possible to amend the monitor without going through every single agent monitor and tick the override option?

Regards,

@Dayrak, you need to identify which group is controlling the monitor (All Agents?), open the group, select the Computer tab, then the Remote Monitors tab. Select the monitor from the list at the bottom of the window, edit the settings and then hit Update.

Its complicated. You can create Internal monitor set and check Window is activated or not. You need only Event ID to get the status
