SonicWALL WAN interface Monitor

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to get set up for alerts on the SonicWALL WAN interfaces for clients. If a WAN int goes down or fails over I'd like to create a ticket. I've worked some with SNMP but not sure how to get this done. Anyone have any experience with this?

You can set up a SonicWall firewall to pop an email alert if a WAN failover occurs. You can arrange for the email to hit your RMM Alerts board in Manage. I think this will be your best bet.

We’ve been using an external service (monitis) for this. I believe this should be monitored from the outside. Cost is minimal. Well worth it.

We set a remote monitor which runs tracert to Google.com

The monitor fails if the primary isp gateway is not return as one of the hops.

So far its been working perfectly.
