Redoing my Patching Groups/ Want Ideas on Group setup

Recommended Posts

Hello,

My company set up their patch groups years ago and didn't set it up ideally. They were applying Approvals to the same groups that they were running patches which was causing patches to not get applied and reports going out to clients that were showing that computers were not compliant. I want to redo the whole system and was looking for some ideas/screenshots of your patching groups so I can set ours up properly.

Thank you

did you ever come up with a solution for this. We had something similiar happen and I did the best that I could to correct it. Currently I believe i have a pretty solid option, but would like to elaborate on what you may have or ideas.

We recently re-designed our groups, following the outline in this video. We're still in the process of getting clients joined to the new groups. In general, the groups are working better than our previous setup.

I'm looking forward to the day that I can remove all the inactive groups from Patch Manager. It's gotten very cluttered.

Question, We enable the Scheduled Patch Installation for Windows critical updates,  we have a workstations that still has the Windows 10 1703 version. Will this be automatically updated to 1903 since we enable the Scheduled Patch installation for Windows critical update or windows update?
