File Monitoring In Automate

Recommended Posts

I'm reaching out on the forum because I have been working at this for a few days and I can't seem to get it right. Has anyone setup file monitoring for automate that simply watches a folder and alerts if a file sits in that folder for too long? I set it to 15 minute intervals and I've tried some scripting options as well. But nothing seems to be working on. Please advise if you are able.

I just want it to look for any file that comes into the folder. So I set the watch as: "C:\example\Sample\*.*" Is the "*.*" valid for automate? Because it doesn't seem to be working the way I want it to.

For a monitor to watch a directory you need to leave off the *.*

Then you can have it watch how many files are in it.  Not sure about how long they have been there.  May have to just set it to fail if it goes above a certain number of files and then use the interval (how often it checks on the monitor itself) to trigger the alert.

Let me know if this works for you.
