Cannot retire or move agent even though network probe has been disabled

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

So normally when trying to retire or move an agent, it won't let you if the network probe is enabled on that agent.

However I have an agent that is offline with the network probe showing as disabled in Automate... and it won't let me retire it because apparently the probe is still enabled.

I've tried running the maintenance script, no change.

Any ideas on how I can get rid of the bloody thing?

Thanks!

This has been in issue for a number of versions. Some version like 2019.10-11 was better at this, but it seems to have just gotten worse. Solution that has worked has been to call the Stored Procedure in MySQL for retiring the agent, but it would be nice if ConnectWise would fix this. This issue seems to happen even if we edit the location in the locations table to remove the probe ID, even with reloading system cache and clearing the desktop client cache from ProgramData.

Just run the stock script to remove probe from an offline agent. Be sure to enter 1 for the parameter if its still offline.

Thanks for the replies.

I tried the script, however even after it runs successfully for the offline agent I still get the error when trying to retire the agent.

Please see the below screenshots of what I am doing -- am I doing something wrong?
